Earlier in the year a WSJ reporter suggested Mitt Romney had things aligning in his favor. The former primary candidate in the last election would be well positioned to win the nomination this time according to the writer. In an article on the GOP strategizing for 2010 elections, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour was mentioned as one that might be a good candidate for the presidential nomination in 2012. Now suddenly in the midst of subtle Palin, Huckabee, and other hints, the WSJ places the former Vice President front and center. His service as part of the Bush administration seems well known, at least in terms of the knowable things from the past eight years. Is it possible that some things from that epoch will have to remain classified and consequently unknown?
Republicans, will not automatically inherit the voter's trust even if Obama’s term is less than stellar. In a recent Rasmussen poll it appeared, if given a choice, the American voters might literally start over with a totally new congress. "Folly" might be your observation, but frankly with some of the names recently suggested in the WSJ, the greater folly might be their nomination.
Is it not time to look at fresh new candidate pools containing experienced American citizens who have enjoyed success in their endeavors?
