WSJ, August 23, California GOP Pins Hopes on Ex-CEO.s Jim Carlton

Alan Phillips wrote:

Jim Carlton has identified a trend largely missed or overlooked by media in today's political world, namely choosing people as nominees who have the practical experience and credibility often lacking in some "professional" politicians. The GOP is wise to identify talented business, educational, corporate, and community individuals who are known for integrity, commitment, and follow through on promises.

Weeks ago I expressed my support publicly for the senatorial candidacy of Carly Fiorini. She is a dedicated former C.E.O. who will bring a sense of American values and constitutional awareness to the U.S. Senate. The GOP in California is right on target in visiting new "pools" of individuals with prior real life experiences, verses reviewing the "good old boy" crowd.

The founding fathers (the initial 55 framers) of the Constitution came from a variety of professions including, shippers, investment advisors, farmers, retirees, scientists, educators, small business, and even one minister. They all served our young nation extremely well. I compliment Jim Carlton for noting this trend, the GOP for making it operational, and Carly Fiorini, all of them, for their determination and vision for California's future.
