WSJ, 8.21 Steven Chu: Americans are like Teenagers When it Comes to Energy

This gentleman is the wrong choice for any important leadership position in a presidential cabinet. His prior idea of painting things “white” to reflect the sun is an incredibly banal and simpleton suggestion, is this the best he can suggest on energy? It might well come as a surprise to him that we are not teenagers, our fellow citizens are extremely literate and understand that painting houses, streets, rooftops, ocean liners, aircraft, black, white and red human faces “white” are just silly loose floating particles of flakes in a world fraught with real and serious challenges, the least of which is having to tolerate another misfit in the presidential cabinet.

Mr. Chu should resign his position immediately and create an opening for a real energy secretary. I would be willing and enthusiastic about wishing him Bon Voyage or good riddance. His ideas and appointment would be laughable if we didn’t as a nation face ongoing serious energy challenges now and the immediate future. The world’s scientific and political communities must be laughing behind our backs! What a joke! He is a clunker, I thought we had a program for this type of vehicle.
